So much for the passive steroids defense. On Monday, Roger Clemens came out swinging, airing an explitive-laced conversation between himself and former trainer Brian McNamee and claiming that he never used used performance enhancing drugs. While lawyers tentatively gave the tactic a thumbs up and congressmen in DC perked up their ears, the rest of America seemed to sigh loudly with suspicion and doubt. Which almost certainly drove Clemens ever crazier, which should serve as some punishment in itself, shouldn't it?
