Digital filmmaker Jeff Altman found some old Disneyland footage shot by his grandfather in 1956, the year after the park opened. Altman transferred the 16mm Kodachrome film stock, slowing it to match the original speed, and produced a mini-masterpiece.
The beautiful imagery conjures up a simpler time, when Mickey Mouse was a fun-loving cartoon scamp and not an international conglomerate. It was a time when Altman's adorable grandmother could visit the low-fi theme park and shake hands with Walt Disney himself.
Congratulations, Jeff. Great work. Americana at its finest.
