Things got entertainingly heated on last week's Real Time. In this corner: Mos Def, a smart animated paranoid rapper who doesn't trust anything the media says. In the other corner: Christopher Hitchens, a smart pompous condescending blowhard who uses his intelligence like a sledgehammer and has no problem letting "Mr. Definitely" know it.
And who is the understated voice of reason? No, not Bill Maher, he seems to get more uncomfortable by the second.
It's Salman Rushdie, the guy who had to go into hiding for ten years after a fatwa was placed on his head.
It makes for great TV, or rather, great HBO.
