So, did anyone stay up and watch Fallon's first show? What did you think? We have to admit to being somewhat underwhelmed, but that stems more from the staleness of the format. Monologue, sketches, guest, jokes, desk, tie...lather, rinse, repeat. Fallon had his moments, particularly when he "slow-jammed the news," highlighted by the one unquestionably awesome part of his version of Late Night, having the Mighty Mighty Roots Crew as the house band. He may never be Letterman, but he's got Black Thought, ?uestlove and the rest of the Philly cats to bring the Phrenology.
That's a good start.
