We can't even being to wrap our heads around the idea of John Belushi as a senior citizen. Nor can we stand to think about all of the lost iterations of his comic genius. 27 years later, and it still stings like the Killer Bees. In tribute, here is "Samurai Night Fever," a terrific showcase of Belushi's manic energy, nimble physicality and anarchic spirit. And for the kids out there, it was called "disco" and truth be told, a samurai wouldn't have looked any more ridiculous than most of the sweaty dancers, Travolta included.
(Ed note: No, we didn't miss the irony of a sketch starring O.J. Simpson and a giant blade. It's too bad that Belushi was the one who died young, presumably not leaving a good-looking corpse.)
