The NHL season barely started a month ago, but Toronto's Mike Van Ryn has got to be ready to throw in the towel. Just weeks after being obliterated against a shattering board in Boston, Van Ryn was again the unwitting victim of a contender for "check of the year" against his team's biggest rivals, the Canadiens, this weekend. As you can see in this clip, Van Ryn has even more facial issues coming his way now. Maybe it's time to just head into surgery and call '08-'09 a wash?
