The Daily Tube review
What you're about to see is easily the most canny, cut-throated and brilliant hockey move to be used in a shootout since, well, the invention of the shootout. Trying to sneak a shot by Devils goaltender and future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur, Toronto's Nick Hagman took a unique approach, slamming on the brakes to send a shower of ice shavings into Brodeur's face, leaving him completely unable to see where the puck was going. Even Brodeur was laughing at Hagman's inventiveness, though we wonder if he'll be laughing after 10 more players use it against him in shootouts. Here's hoping Hagman has unwittingly opened Pandora's Hockey Shootout Box. The more trick goals, the better.
