Long the lovable losers, Spain decided to shed it's soccer image. Instead of falling apart at the hands of another perennial contender, Germany, the Spanish played a solid game at the back and used one moment of brilliance from striker Fernando Torres in the 33rd minute to capture the European Championship. The celebratory delirium in Madrid and across Spain was as wild as you might imagine, as this BBC footage aptly proves.  (by Cameron Smith) Running Time: 1:51
