It's automation, dear Watson. When an over-imaginative kid gets his piggy bank broken into, he looks to help from his hero, Sherlock Holmes, but not the distiguinshed British private eye we know from the novels. Instead he builds a robot with the crime solving logical capabilities of Sherlock Holmes. Some piece of Judge Dredd must've gotten thrown into the mix somewhere, because after solving the case, Sherlock Bot becomes judge, jury, and executioner.
