The concept of SMITH Magazine's Six-Word Memoirs is to take just six words and condense them into a phrase that tells a story. The site has been collecting six-word submissions from the internet for the latest edition, Six-Word Memoirs on Love & Heartbreak, which resulted in about 11,000 submissions. Here's six-word author Daniel Handler, better known as "Lemony Snicket" (the pen name he used to write A Series of Unfortunate Events) reading off 10 of his memoirs he wrote specifically for the new edition:
It's a really cool concept, right? The Six-Word Memoirs idea has been around for a few years, though the latest edition is just out this month. Vanity Fair said that the six-word books "Will thrill minimalists and inspire maximalists." That's a pretty good description, we think.
